CHECK-IN #2 September 1 – October 1: Academic Success Event (with SAs)

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 26, CLASSES BEGIN!

Wake Forest recognizes that the transition to college goes beyond Orientation. As part of your extended orientation to campus, Student Advisers will guide you through a multitude of campus resources, showing you how to make the most of each one. Afterward, you will complete a brief assessment to gauge your understanding of the student support services available to you. Students are asked to complete the online extended orientation module in Canvas no later than Thursday, October 1st. Completion of this material is REQUIRED.

FIRST SEMESTER CHECK-INS

OCTOBER 19 – OCTOBER 30

New students cannot learn everything about what it takes to have a successful college experience in a few days before the semester even starts. Therefore, new student orientation programming continues through the fall via CANVAS. In this way, you can continue to learn while you are experiencing what it is actually like to be a student at Wake Forest.

Advising for Spring Registration

THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES AND BEYOND

Students are asked to complete the online extended orientation module in Canvas no later than Thursday, October 1st. Completion of this material is REQUIRED.

FIRST-SEMESTER CHECK-INS The two sessions listed below provide an important opportunity for you to reflect and dialogue with your peers on critical areas of first-year experience. Check-In #1. September 1 – October 1: Step Up: Becoming an Active Bystander Demon Deacons care for each other! This session will teach students about the variety of situations they may encounter both on a college campus and virtually. It will provide ways for students to intervene safely while considering how their own identities impact their ability to do so. In addition, this session will instill a sense of responsibility for students to work towards a culture of care for all members of the WFU community and beyond. Students are asked to complete the online extended orientation module in Canvas no later than Thursday, October 1st. Completion of this material is REQUIRED.

Be sure to schedule (and attend!) a meeting with your adviser during this period. The advising meeting provides a wonderful opportunity to update your adviser about how your semester is going and to get your adviser’s advice about your current work as well as courses for spring semester. And, as another detail … you must attend this meeting in order to get the Personal Identification Number (PIN) you will need to register for Spring semester courses. Attendance required!
