Library Partners Press (LPP) Award and/or Writer in Residence (WIR) Information and Nomination Form
APPLICATION DEADLINES: there are two sessions and two deadlines. The nomination process must be completed online through this form no later than May 30 for the Summer/Fall Residencies (which is August through December, with notification of award by June 30th ) and by October 30 for the Winter/Spring Residencies (which is January through May, with notification of award by November 30th).

ELIGIBILITY: Residencies are intended to assist in the completion of a work-in-progress manuscript and its publication with Library Partners Press. Residencies are intended to serve as professional development opportunities for writers in all genres. Artistic merit and promise of publication are the basis for selections. Previously-published as well as emerging writers are encouraged to apply.

AWARDS: A rotating panel of experts and professionals in the publishing industry will independently review applications and supporting materials. Final awards of residencies are at the discretion of Library Partners Press. In some instances, writers are invited to participate without submitting an application.

FACILITIES: Library Partners Press will arrange for the writers' time, space, and facilities for research, experimentation, and production resulting in the publication of the Awardees' manuscripts by the end of the (probably mostly virtual) residency. Writers are at liberty to structure their own time and activity throughout the residency, but are encouraged to engage with the librarians and staff and activities at Library Partners Press, either in person, or remotely.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: A stipend of $1000 is awarded to residents. The stipend is distributed at the end of the residency, ideally simultaneous to the launch date of the Writer’s LPP-published manuscript. Residents are responsible for their own personal living expenses, food and beverage, supplies, and any expenses related to the production of the manuscript during the residency. Travel and shipping expenses to and from Wake Forest University and Library Partners Press are also the responsibility of the resident.

DEPOSIT: A $100 deposit is due within two weeks of notification. Receipt of deposit confirms the residency. The deposit is returned upon completion of the residency program. If a writer cancels a residency reservation less than three months prior to the beginning of the residency, the deposit is not refunded. There are no other fees charged for the residency.

PRIVACY: All application materials and/or work samples are confidential and retained for use of the Library Partners Press Writer in Residence Program only.

QUESTIONS: Got all that? Please do feel free to contact Library Partners Press directly, at librarypartnerspress@wfu.edu and/or 336-758-6181. Thank you.
